Let’s start with the text-book definition:
Life coaching is a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximise your personal potential. Because you are your most valuable asset.
So what does that all mean? Well, the coaching relationship is about assisting the client (that’s you) in closing the gap between where you are and where you want to be (this is coaching in its most simplistic form).
Through a combination of powerful questioning, strategy elicitation and the sharing of insights and support, coaching works with you to create conversations outside the current boundary conditions of your thinking.
You’ll find yourself saying, ‘hmm, um, well, nobody has ever asked me that before…’ – and that’s why coaching is so beneficial. It’s designed to challenge your current thinking, because when you begin to answer new questions and engage in new conversations, then things naturally begin to shift in your life. This is the power of life coaching.
